Government is prepared to grant official recognition to associations representing distinct ranks of police officers, provided such association conform to conditions which have been laid down. Copies of the rules embodying these conditions can be obtained by associations or proposed associations on application through the proper official channel. The formation of associations otherwise than in accordance with these rules, and the joining of any association or trade union other than a recognised police association by individual police officers, is absolutely prohibited.
